Water: A Vision in Dance
Grand Valley State University Presents The 17th Annual Fall Arts Celebration with a performance by BODYART, a New Orleans-based multimedia dance and visual art company that combines live performances and projected videos in nontraditional spaces.
BODYART performed in the Louis Armstrong Theatre at the Thomas J. and Marcia J. Haas Center for Performing Arts at GVSU’s Allendale Campus on October 28, 2019.
The performance consisted of two parts: ‘Water Stories’ and ‘groundwater.’
The performance began with ‘Water Stories’ which was performed with the music La Mer by Claude Debussy as a backdrop to an eccentric, vivid performance of music and dance.
BODYART finished the performance with a culminating piece of music and dance in ‘groundwater.’ The GVSU Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Henry Duitman, provided live music for the performance through a network of speakers and microphones from the room next door of the Haas Center for Performing Arts.
